Balayage

This is a freestyle technique of painting highlights into the hair where the ends are lighter than the roots, rather than the more structured way of putting in highlights. Great for those who would like a more natural, sun kissed version of their own hair.
Ombre

This technique is a more dramatic look that can be done with vibrant colors or just a more contrasting blonde. The ends are lighter than the roots as in the Balayage effect, but instead of natural highlights its more of a block of color on the ends.
